About the Role

We are seeking reliable, safety-focused Rail Track Labourers for ad hoc project work and track maintenance based in Mernda, running from December through to March.

This role offers steady day-shift hours (Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM)

Remuneration & Roster

• Hourly Rate: $50.00 per hour

• Allowances: Daily Travel Allowance + Project Site Allowance paid on top

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (10-hour shifts)

• Superannuation: Paid on all eligible hours

Key Responsibilities

• Track maintenance, sleeper renewal, rail replacement, cutting, and clipping.

• Assisting with ballast regulation, tamping support, and track leveling.

• Safe operation of standard track hand and power tools (e.g., impact wrenches, rail saws, clipping guns).

• Availability for on-call roster rotations

• Strict adherence to safe-working protocols, site safety plans, and pre-start briefings.

Mandatory Requirements

To be considered, candidates must hold current, valid copies of:

• Rail Industry Worker (RIW) Card (Active status)

• Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure

• Category 3 Rail Medical (minimum requirement)

• TTSA (Track Safety Awareness / Safe Working)

• SWIRC (Safe Working in Rail Corridors)

• Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable personal transport

• Current Australian work rights
