Step Into a High-Impact Leadership Role: Quality Manager (12-Month Contract)
We are partnering with a highly respected organisation in the defence systems sector to find an experienced Quality Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract. Based in Hume, Canberra, this parental leave cover is a unique opportunity to step into a pivotal leadership role with an employer that genuinely invests in its workforce through challenging and inspiring projects.
...The Opportunity
As the Quality Manager, you won't just be ticking boxes—you will take executive control of the Quality Management System and lead the team to ensure absolute customer confidence in the business’s products and processes. You will be the prominent "Quality Face" to the customer, championing a risk-based culture aimed at building a world-class quality organisation.
What You Will Drive
Instead of just maintaining the status quo, you will be actively evolving the business. Your focus will range from upgrading current ISO 9001 compliance to AS9100 standards to developing management systems that target Environmental (ISO 14001) and Occupational Health and Safety (ISO 45001) certifications if required. You will also integrate broader corporate health, safety, and environment systems into the daily operations.
In operational settings, you will oversee root-cause investigations and resolution strategies for supplier, manufacturing, and client challenges, simultaneously upskilling your team in these core frameworks. Serving as the primary liaison, you will confirm that operational workflows and documentation strictly align with core contractual metrics and deliverables. Furthermore, you will cultivate collaborative cross-departmental partnerships to keep high quality, operational excellence, and financial performance at the forefront.
Who You Are
You bring a highly systematic, organised approach to driving outcomes and deliverables. Beyond the technical know-how, you are a natural collaborator. You possess:
- At least 3 years of experience operating in a quality leadership capacity.
- A recognised qualification in a relevant field.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, allowing you to seamlessly establish strong professional relationships and work effectively alongside diverse teams.
Ready to Make an Impact?
If you are an experienced quality professional eager to leave a lasting mark over the next 12 months, we want to hear from you. Please submit a tailored resume alongside a brief cover letter outlining the experience you bring to the table.
