Role Overview
Our client is undergoing an enterprise wide ERP upgrade to a Tier 2 system. They require an experienced Project Manager to own the end to end delivery within a retail environment. The successful candidate must have a background in the retail sector and a proven track record of driving a retail ERP implementation from initial scoping through to go live.
Mandatory Criteria
- Retail Industry Expertise: A proven career background working internally or as a consultant for established retail businesses. Candidates must possess a deep understanding of retail-specific operations, omni channel supply chains, inventory management, and logistics.
- End to End Retail ERP Implementation: Direct experience managing at least one major ERP upgrade or implementation specifically within the retail industry, covering the entire lifecycle from inception, data migration, and testing through to deployment and hypercare.
- Methodology & Systems: Proven ability to apply structured ERP upgrade methodologies to a Tier 2 system. Direct experience with Tier 2 systems is highly advantageous, but the ability to translate past retail ERP experience to this platform is the priority.
- Project Management Fundamentals: Strong proficiency in traditional PM methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid), senior stakeholder management, and vendor delivery management.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end execution, timeline, budget, and scope of the retail ERP upgrade.
- Coordinate cross-functional internal retail teams, system integrators, and third-party vendors.
- Identify, mitigate, and manage risks, dependencies, and complex retail data migration bottlenecks.
- Provide regular milestone and status reporting to client executive leadership.
