About the Role
This company are a large tier 2 civil contractor and are seeing continued growth in their NSW water business. As such, they are looking for a Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of upcoming water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the Central Coast and Sydney. Reporting into senior operational leadership, you will take ownership of project performance across safety, programme, commercial outcomes and client relationships while leading multi-disciplinary project teams. The role will initially be based at their offices in Sydney Olympic Park to assist with tendering duties then move to the Central Coast once delivery works start. Ideally, you will be based on the Central Coast, Newcastle or surrounding regions, or be willing to commute daily to project sites.Key Accountabilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects
- Drive safe, efficient and commercially successful project outcomes
- Manage project programmes, budgets, forecasting and overall performance
- Oversee construction activities across treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, reservoirs and associated civil infrastructure
- Lead and mentor project teams including engineers, supervisors and subcontract partners
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships with water authorities and key stakeholders
- Manage project risks, opportunities, procurement strategies and contract administration
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental and regulatory requirements
- Support tender development, methodologies and pre-contract planning activities for future projects
Key Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering
- Extensive experience as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager delivering major water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Australia
- Strong experience managing complex civil construction projects valued at significant scale
- Demonstrated delivery experience across treatment plants, pumping stations, pipelines, networks, reservoirs or related utility infrastructure
- Proven ability to lead large project teams and drive high-performance cultures
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, margins and contractual obligations
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trusted client relationships
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project controls, risk management and programme delivery
