About the Client
...Randstad has been engaged by a highly respected, multi-disciplinary land and built environment consultancy to recruit a Project Manager for their growing team in Geelong. Operating across Australia, our client delivers integrated engineering, design, and planning solutions for high-profile civil and land development projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Discovery: Lead initial consultations with key clients and internal Project Directors to capture core objectives, technical parameters, and project milestones.
- Scope Definition: Draft clear, actionable project scopes detailing deliverables, resources, and risk factors aligned with client goals.
- External Alignment: Engage sub-consultants, authorities, and external stakeholders to fine-tune project requirements and build accurate fee structures.
- Proposal Presentation: Finalize and pitch comprehensive fee proposals to senior leadership and clients to secure sign-off and align expectations.
- Project Delivery & Management: Oversee project programs, control budgets, identify risks, and coordinate internal multi-disciplinary teams to meet key deadlines.
- Contract Administration: Act as Superintendent for project contracts (consultants, authorities, and contractors) with support from specialist technical divisions.
- Quality & Review: Develop project-specific compliance checklists based on permit and client requirements; execute high-level reviews of plans and computations following QA processes.
Skills & Experience Required
- Land Development Expertise: Proven background managing end-to-end land development projects within a consultancy environment.
- Commercial & Risk Acumen: Track record of driving project profitability, controlling budgets, and proactively managing risk.
- Contract & Authority Management: Hands-on experience with superintendent duties, contract administration, and navigating council/authority approvals.
- Stakeholder Leadership: Strong communication skills to lead internal engineering teams, align external consultants, and foster lasting client trust.
