Randstad are seeking applications from available and suitable candidates for the role of Senior Project Engineer within a leading mining and resources organisation. Due to a commitment to asset upgrades, this exciting opportunity is available.
You will support the Construction Manager by providing engineering and technical delivery support across procurement, construction and commissioning, acting as a key technical interface between design, the contractor and client stakeholders, and ensuring engineering issues are resolved without impact to safety, quality or programme.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development and ensure high performance outcomes in assets, employees, contractors and customers
- Proactive in field leadership
- Coordinate the integration of the project engineering across project execution
- Coordinates the delivery of the engineering quality assurance activities across all areas
- Review and disposition of non-conformances, working with design, procurement and construction stakeholders to reach timely resolution.
- Provide technical support during procurement activities, including review of vendor documentation, material submittals and Inspection and Test Plans.
- Providing field engineering support during construction, including responding to site queries, issuing design clarifications and managing redline mark-ups.
- Supporting pre-commissioning, commissioning and handover activities, including punch list management and coordination of as-built documentation.
- Maintaining the project document control register and coordinating engineering deliverables in line with BHP requirements.
- Liaise with contractors, consultants and other stakeholders regarding management of the project
The successful candidate will possess:
- A degree in Engineering (Civil or Mechanical)
- Proven Senior Project Engineer experience on pipeline, civil or mechanical construction projects, ideally within a mining environment.
- Strong technical engineering background in piping/pipeline design and construction
- Strong understanding of “safety in design” principles
- Excellent computing and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly technical and detailed
- Energetic with a positive, can-do attitude
