This brand new facility is now seeking an experienced, structured, and safety-focused Production Manager to join their team and take ownership of their day-to-day operations.
The Role
As the Production Manager, you will take end-to-end operational ownership of the site's manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics teams. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will drive a proactive safety culture while optimizing material flow and production efficiency.
Your primary mission will be ensuring that daily production targets, inventory accuracy, and customer delivery timelines are consistently met in strict compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Work Health & Safety (WHS) standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Scheduling: Plan, implement, and oversee daily manufacturing schedules, including coordinating team rosters to meet deadlines.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure all processes adhere to strict GMP and SOP guidelines; guarantee that Batch Manufacturing Records are filled out accurately and in real-time.
- Safety Leadership: Champion a robust, safety-first culture across both production floors and the warehouse, maintaining high WHS standards.
- Plant & Equipment Care: Coordinate equipment calibrations, scheduled maintenance programs, and validations in accordance with the Validation Master Plan.
- Warehouse & Logistics: Manage the receipt of raw materials and the dispatch of finished goods, keeping inventory highly accurate utilizing the company's ERP system.
- Team Upskilling: Actively train, mentor, and develop production personnel to ensure absolute compliance with company SOPs and quality frameworks.
What You Bring
Our client is looking for a hands-on operations leader who thrives in highly regulated environments. To be successful, you will ideally possess:
- Industry Experience: A minimum of 3 years in production management within the cosmetic, sunscreen or pharmaceutical manufacturing sectors. Experience within a TGA-licensed GMP environment is essential.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Science, Operations Management, Pharmacy, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Technical Aptitude: Strong working knowledge of mixing, packing, and filling machinery, with the practical ability to troubleshoot mechanical or quality issues.
- System Literacy: Confident experience utilizing ERP or MRP systems for inventory control and production tracking.
- Communication: Exceptional communication skills to collaborate effectively with all levels of the business, including reporting quality deviations directly to the Head of Quality
