About the Client We are currently seeking an AO5 - Procurement Advisor on behalf of a large government department. This organisation is responsible for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of critical road infrastructure across a fast-growing area of South East Queensland.
About the Role This is an equivalent to AO5 level position, offered as a 12-month contract with possible extension. Working within a regional procurement and program support team, you will develop and implement innovative procurement strategies and activities. You will also co-ordinate and monitor the provision of timely, accurate, and relevant procurement advice that aligns with the organisation's governance framework.
Key accountabilities include:
- Managing end-to-end procurement activity implementation, including procurement planning and documentation, evaluation, supplier negotiation, contract documentation, and contract management.
- Providing accurate and professional advice and support to clients regarding end-to-end procurement activity.
- Liaising with counterparts to gain further knowledge with the aim of refining local business processes and practices.
- Ensuring successful business outcomes through effective resource utilisation, performance monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
- Establishing and maintaining effective internal and external relationships.
- Developing and implementing business improvement initiatives to streamline procurement processes and procedures for customers.
- Leading and coaching support staff, ensuring appropriate skill sets and training needs are identified and developed.
- Ensuring operational practices and standards of service comply with departmental policies, legislation (including WH&S), and governance obligations.
Mandatory Requirements
- Current holder of a Class C driver's licence.
- Required to undergo employment screening, including a criminal history check, as part of the selection process.
