This is a key leadership role combining engineering design oversight and project governance with business development and mentoring your team.
Serving as the technical authority and client lead for the civil division, you will take ownership of major project lifecycles, cultivate key client partnerships, and mentor a talented team of engineers and drafters toward technical excellence.
Technical Leadership & Quality Assurance: Serve as the lead technical authority on complex civil projects (urban subdivisions, major infrastructure, flood modeling, stormwater systems). Review, certify, and sign off on calculations, reports, and authority submissions ensuring full compliance with Australian Standards and council requirements.
Project Delivery & Governance: Oversee end to end project lifecycles to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and to specification. Manage scope, fee proposals, and variations while solving site and regulatory challenges.
Client Relationship & Business Development: Act as a trusted advisor to land developers, architects, contractors, and local authorities. Drive business growth by leading winning proposals, attending client pitches, and expanding the firm's market footprint.
Mentorship & Team Development: Lead and empower graduate through senior civil engineers and drafters. Conduct technical reviews, elevate team capabilities.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Qualifications: Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent, with CPEng (or ability to obtain)
Demonstrated Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive civil engineering consultancy experience in Australia, with deep exposure to land development and civil infrastructure projects.
Software Experience: Advanced familiarity with software packages including 12d Model, Civil 3D, MUSIC, TUFLOW, DRAINS, or HEC-RAS.
Stakeholder Influence: Outstanding communication and negotiation skills with a history of building rapport with developers, council authorities, and key industry bodies.
