They are currently seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their team on an 18-month contract. This role will report into a highly experienced Payroll Manager who values development, mentoring and upskilling, with exciting plans for the continuous improvement of their payroll function.

About the role:
Reporting into Payroll leadership and working within a collaborative corporate team, you will take ownership of payroll delivery for designated business areas while acting as a trusted subject-matter expert. Your duties will include:
- Managing the accurate and timely execution of payrolls for assigned business units
- Ensuring strict payroll compliance with all legislative, statutory, and internal requirements
- Acting as the point of contact for complex payroll data, calculations, and employment conditions
- Resolving escalated payroll queries, issues, and discrepancies with high-quality customer service
- Assisting with system configuration, testing, and continuous process improvements
- Maintaining accurate records using internal case management systems
- Coordinating and drafting communications regarding internal payroll updates
About you:
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role/s
- Experience working in a high volume environment
- Strong working knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, tax, and superannuation
- Solid experience interpreting Enterprise Agreements, including complex pay, leave, and allowance structures
- Experience using a large payroll system such as Chris21/iChris, SAP, Aurion, Preceda, etc.
- Advanced Excel capabilities, including the ability to run ad-hoc reporting and work with macros
- High level of attention to detail with a structured, proactive approach to deadlines
- Full and unlimited Australian working rights
