We are seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join a state government team for a contract position based in Doncaster, Melbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various aspects of Superannuation, payroll processing, compliance, and customer service. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of payroll processes, legislative requirements, and industrial agreements and experience with Chris 21 to be able to join the team seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Superannuation aspects including ESSS, HESTA Clearing House for SuperStream, and Choice Super Funds in compliance with current legislation.
- Undertake payroll processing and related administrative tasks accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with relevant industrial agreements and legislative requirements.
- Research and stay updated on changes to policies, Acts, legislation, and industrial agreements.
- Support manual review and updating to ensure currency and relevance.
- Identify opportunities to enhance payroll systems and processes within the framework.
- Facilitate process improvements and drive continuous review of initiatives.
- Foster partnership with internal teams and key stakeholders, providing advice and assistance as needed.
- Proactively identify and address health and safety hazards, promoting a safety culture within the team.
- Educate, coach, and support team members in technical aspects and continuous improvement opportunities.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Completion of a degree or relevant industry certification with subsequent relevant experience, or equivalent combination of training and relevant experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end payroll process and experience with Chris 21 payroll system essential.
- Extensive knowledge of payroll legislative requirements and industrial agreements.
- Experience in researching information to provide professional advice and drive positive change.
- Demonstrated experience in providing quality customer service ensuring compliance and quality requirements are met.
