Randstad is currently partnered with a client in the NFP sector who is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer for a full-time contracted opportunity in Geelong.

Salary: Hourly rate ranging from $40-$55 per hour + superannuation
Employment Type: Full-time contract
Contract length: 2 months - immediate start
Location: Geelong
Responsibilities include:
- Efficiently process payroll for employees within a mid to large organisation, ensuring accurate calculation of employee salaries, bonuses, deductions, and taxes.
- Maintain payroll records, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with relevant regulations.
- Successfully operate within a complex payroll environment, ideally with experience handling multiple industrial instruments such as awards and agreements.
- Utilise SAP for payroll processing (preferred). Flexibility in adapting to different configurations of SAP is appreciated. Experience with SAP is preferred but not mandatory.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Excel, including V-look-ups and pivot tables, to conduct reconciliations and generate reports accurately and efficiently.
- Manage approved changes to payroll-related data, including Worker's Compensation payments, salary deductions, leave adjustments, tax and super variations, fleet car leases, and payroll tax.
- Respond to and advise staff on payroll matters or queries concerning employee entitlements, collaborating with People Services as necessary.
- Manage third-party remittances and engage with internal and external parties to resolve any issues or queries
- Accurately calculate over-payments, wage adjustments, including back-pay, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations, and facilitate their resolution.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Proven work experience as a Payroll Officer in a medium to large organisation.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and regulations.
- Proficiency in payroll software (SAP preferred).
- Experience in Excel including V-look-ups and pivot tables
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and calculations.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
