About the Role
This is a full-time, permanent position offering $80,000 – $90,000 + super
Created off the back of significant business growth and expansion, this is an exciting opportunity to lead operations for a brand-new division within the company. Stepping into this greenfield leadership position, you will build a solid operational foundation while taking full ownership of the new division's operations once fully trained. Establishing a new division takes time, patience, and a degree of trial and error to get running smoothly—you will be supported every step of the way by an experienced, accessible management team.
In this role, you will hold dual responsibility for day-to-day site workflows and transport logistics. You will directly lead 2 to 3 site operators while holding full supervisory management over 4 drivers, overseeing all run scheduling, route coordination, and operational activities.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise, coach, and allocate daily activities to a team of 2–3 site operators.
Direct and manage 4 drivers, overseeing all run scheduling, route planning, and fleet logistics.
Oversee the safe operation of site equipment, including industrial cardboard balers, to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
Take full ownership of the new division's operations as it grows, utilizing trial and error to refine daily workflows.
Drive a proactive safety culture, ensuring strict adherence to workplace health and safety (WHS) and environmental compliance standards.
Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and structured toolbox talks.
Monitor site equipment and operational readiness, coordinating routine maintenance as required.
Maintain accurate operational records, including volume logs, driver run sheets, and compliance reports.
Skills & Experience
Proven supervisory or team leadership experience within environmental services, logistics, transport, or industrial operations.
Demonstrated experience in transport scheduling, route coordination, and driver management.
High level of resilience, patience, and a problem-solving mindset suited to setting up new operational workflows.
Strong leadership capability to mentor small teams and foster a positive, safe culture.
Practical experience operating or supervising site machinery, such as industrial cardboard balers.
Solid understanding of WHS policies and environmental compliance requirements.
