About the Role
On behalf of our client, a leading player in the civil construction and infrastructure sector, we are seeking a reliable, safety-focused Multi-Skilled Operator to join the team at their local asphalt plant.
This is a hands-on role ideal for an operator who enjoys variety, splitting their time between controlling the asphalt batching process, operating heavy machinery, and assisting with plant maintenance. While full site-specific training will be provided, candidates with prior experience in asphalt or concrete batching plants, and front-end loader operation will be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
Plant Batching: Operate the asphalt plant control systems to accurately blend raw aggregates, bitumen, and additives according to strict mix designs.
Machinery Operation: Safely operate a Front End Loader to feed aggregate bins, manage stock piles, and assist with general yard duties.
Plant Maintenance: Assist with routine preventative maintenance, clearing blockages, and cleaning of the batching plant and yard to ensure optimal uptime.
Quality & Safety: Conduct basic quality checks on raw materials and finished asphalt mixes, while maintaining strict adherence to workplace health and safety (WHS) protocols.
Inventory Monitoring: Keep track of raw material stock levels (aggregates, binders) to ensure continuous production.
What We Are Looking For
Industry Experience: Prior experience working in an asphalt plant, concrete batch plant, or quarry environment is highly preferred.
Batching Skills: Familiarity with automated batching software and production control systems.
Tickets & Licenses: A valid Front End Loader, Excavator and Dozer ticket with experinces is highly desirable. A current driver’s license and reliable transport are essential.
Operational Drive: Mechanical aptitude for basic plant maintenance and the flexibility to handle early morning starts.
Safety Culture: A proactive attitude toward zero-harm safety practices.
