About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Road Crew Member / Operator to join our civil construction team operating across the Mornington Peninsula. This is an excellent casual-to-permanent opportunity with a secure pathway to full-time permanent employment.
This is a diverse role where no two days are the same. Alongside civil works and machinery operation, our crew is responsible for essential council and road network maintenance, ensuring our local roads remain safe and functional for the community. You will also participate in an emergency call-out roster for urgent works.
Key Responsibilities
Road Maintenance: Perform asphalt patch work and routine pothole repairs.
Asset Maintenance: Install, repair, and replace street signs and road furniture.
Civil Operations: Safely operate Excavators and Skid Steers for detailed excavation, trenching, and material shifting.
Driving: Operate MR / HR trucks to transport materials, equipment, and spoil.
General Crew Duties: Conduct ad-hoc rubbish collection / roadside litter clearing, general laboring, and hand-tool operation.
Emergency Response: Respond to urgent call-outs as part of a rostered team to handle hazards and storm damage.
What You Need to Bring
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and tickets:
White Card (General Construction Induction)
MR or HR Truck License (with a clean driving record)
Current tickets/competencies for Skid Steer (Bobcat) and Excavator
Proven experience in civil construction, road maintenance, or council works
Ability to commit to a 6:00 AM start daily and participate in an emergency call-out roster
Reliable transport to get to various sites across the Mornington Peninsula
Desirable but not essential: Traffic Control tickets or a Roller ticket will be highly regarded.
