The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Manager and liaising with Senior Engineers, you will play a hands on role in producing detailed 2D and 3D engineering documentation for mechanical and electrical building services. You will be responsible for taking architectural and engineering concepts and translating them into precise, coordinated designs ready for construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting & Modeling: Produce accurate, consistent 2D and 3D detailed documentation (plans, schematics, elevations, sections, and schedules) using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
- Design Coordination: Work alongside architects, senior engineers, and contractors to interpret ideas and seamlessly coordinate designs across disciplines.
- Compliance & Quality: Ensure all documentation complies with relevant Australian Standards (AS/NZS), the Building Code of Australia (BCA/NCC), and authority approval requirements, conducting thorough self checks on all work.
- Project & CAD Support: Assist with technical specifications and project estimates while contributing to the continuous review and enhancement of internal standards.
To be considered for this role
You will be a detail-oriented, collaborative drafter with a strong technical foundation in mechanical (HVAC) and/or electrical building services.
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in mechanical and/or electrical drafting within the Australian building services sector.
- High proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP
- A solid understanding of Australian Standards, the BCA/NCC, and relevant building codes.
- Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
