About the Roles
We are currently recruiting trade-qualified Mechanical Fitters for various immediate and upcoming opportunities at Olympic Dam. Partnering with leading contracting companies across the site, we have flexible engagement options ranging from major event shutdown work to ongoing long-term site positions.
Available Rosters & Engagement Options
We are seeking fitters for three distinct work arrangements:
1. Major Major Site Shutdown (30/8 – 12/9)
... Dates: 30th August to 12th September.
Shift Structure: 12-hour shifts (Day/Night rotations).
Perks: Camp accommodation, flights from capital cities, and all site meals provided.
2. 2 Weeks On / 1 Week Off (DIDO)
Schedule: 2 weeks on, 1 week off.
Travel & Housing: Drive-In Drive-Out (DIDO) with fully provided company share house accommodation in Roxby Downs.
Allowance: Daily meal and incidentals allowances.
3. 3 Weeks On / 1 Week Off (FIFO)
Schedule: 3 weeks on, 1 week off.
Travel & Housing: Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) with return flights provided from major capital cities.
Perks: Full camp accommodation and catered meals included.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance, overhaul, and repair of fixed plant equipment, crushers, conveyors, pumps, and processing infrastructure.
Executing preventative maintenance schedules and active fault-finding/troubleshooting.
Participating in pre-start meetings, risk assessments (take-5s), and strict adherence to mine site safety procedures.
Working collaboratively across diverse crews to deliver work on time during peak shut conditions and normal operations.
Key Requirements
Trade Qualification: Cert III in Mechanical Engineering / Fitter & Turner or equivalent (Recognised Australian Trade Certificate).
Certifications (Mandatory/Desirable):
Working at Heights & Confined Space (issued/refreshed within 2 years preferred).
High Risk Work Licenses (Dogging, Rigging, Forklift, Overhead Crane - advantageous).
Site Induction: Current BHP / Olympic Dam Site Induction (highly regarded, though onboarding support is provided).
Medical & Safety: Ability to pass a full pre-employment medical, including drug & alcohol screening.
Driver's License: Valid Australian C-Class Driver's License.
