About the Role
Are you a passionate graduate or junior Mechanical Engineer looking to fast-track your career in building services? We are seeking an ambitious Mechanical Engineer (1–3 years’ experience) to join our dynamic team in Melbourne.
In this role, you will work alongside senior engineers and directors on diverse, high-profile projects across the commercial, residential, healthcare, and educational sectors. You will be hands-on with HVAC design, technical calculations, and BIM modelling, directly contributing to sustainable and high-performing building outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Perform detailed mechanical services design (HVAC, ventilation, air conditioning, and thermal performance calculations).
Produce detailed 3D BIM models and 2D documentation using Revit.
Assist with heat load estimations (e.g., Camel or similar software), equipment sizing, and duct/pipe routing.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, architects, clients, and contractors to deliver integrated project solutions.
Conduct site inspections and assist with design verification and commissioning documentation.
Ensure all designs strictly comply with the National Construction Code (NCC) / Building Code of Australia (BCA) and relevant Australian Standards (AS1668, AS3666, etc.).
What We Are Looking For
Experience: 1–3 years of professional experience in mechanical design within a building services consultancy or relevant engineering environment.
Technical Software Skills: Proficiency in Revit is essential. Familiarity with load calculation software (e.g., Camel, IESVE) and AutoCAD is highly desirable.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent qualification recognized by Engineers Australia).
Technical Aptitude: Strong foundational understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and HVAC principles.
Passion & Drive: A genuine commitment to building a long-term career in the building services industry and a drive to develop senior-level technical expertise.
Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
