Randstad has partnered with Skretting Australia to find an experienced Maintenance Officer / Mechanical Fitter to join their Westbury-based maintenance team.

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager (North), you will ensure optimal and reliable plant performance within a modern, automated feed production facility. This role involves executing a broad range of preventative, reactive, and strategic maintenance activities aligned with operational targets.

This position is ideal for a proactive individual with a safety-first mindset and a solutions-driven approach who can work both independently and collaboratively within a small team.

• Deliver safe, reliable, and efficient routine preventative and reactive maintenance to support the production team.
• Act as a champion for best-practice safe work methods, including active participation in Job Safety Assessments (JSAs) and work permitting.
• Troubleshoot mechanical faults, production breakdowns, and assist with production start-ups.
• Utilize the internal asset management system to follow and improve scheduled maintenance programs.
• Identify, monitor, and record critical machine and process-related parts.
• Communicate effectively with business leaders, production operators, and contractors to monitor equipment performance.
• Perform small-to-medium fabrication and construction works to support ongoing site development.
• Participate actively in the rotating day/afternoon shift roster and after-hours on-call rotation.

Essential:

• Trade Qualification: Relevant Trade Certification in Mechanical Fitting or a related field.
• Experience: Ideally 3–5 years of experience within a fast-paced industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Safety & Standards: A demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental practices.
• Technical Skills: Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding capabilities in a factory/production setting.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, time management, and prioritization skills, with a high degree of maturity and initiative.
• Compliance: Willingness to undergo a criminal history/police check and a pre-employment medical assessment.

Desirable (Highly Regarded):

• Experience with automation, electrical/instrumentation control systems, pumping, pneumatics/hydraulics, conveyors, weigh scales, or steam/gas appliances.
• Experience in an FMCG or highly automated environment.
• Welding/fabrication experience (MIG/TIG/Stick).
• Licenses/Certifications: Forklift, EWP, Restricted Electrical License (disconnect/reconnect), Industrial White Card, Confined Space, High-Risk Work, or Dogging ticket.
