Position Overview
We are seeking professional, adaptable, and reliable individuals to join our logistics network on a casual basis. This is a versatile role where you will be rostered for either mail sorting or delivery driving duties depending on operational needs and daily requirements. As a core part of the Australia Post network, you must be comfortable transitioning between shifts dedicated to indoor mail processing and shifts spent out on the road delivering to residential and commercial customers.
Key Responsibilities
Your specific duties will vary from day to day based on the roster:
... Mail Sorting Shifts: Accurately sort, sequence, and bundle letters and parcels within the delivery center to prepare mail for dispatch.
Delivery Driving Shifts: Safely operate company delivery vehicles, securely loading freight and delivering mail and parcels efficiently along designated routes.
Customer Service & Compliance: (On driving days) Provide professional, customer-focused service, and utilize handheld scanning technology for real-time tracking and electronic signatures.
Safety & Security: Adhere strictly to occupational health and safety (OH&S) guidelines across both environments, including manual handling techniques and defensive driving.
Selection Criteria
Licensing: A current, valid Australian Driver’s Licence with a clean and verifiable driving history.
Flexibility & Adaptability: Willingness to undertake distinct sorting shifts or driving shifts depending on the operational needs of the day.
Physical Capability: Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and prolonged periods of standing during sorting shifts.
Technology: Literacy in operating handheld digital devices and scanning software.
Pre-Employment Screening: Must be willing to undergo a national police clearance and a pre-employment medical assessment.
