My client is a leading global multinational investment banking and financial services company. You will be joining the data engineering team to help build the best technology company in the financial services industry. You will play a leading role in shaping and driving the next evolution of their data and analytics platform, providing guidance and support to your team.
What role you will play:
As a Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building, implementing and enhancing enterprise scale data platforms. You will be supporting a team of data engineers through implementation of methods, standards and frameworks. You will engage with various stakeholders and support the broader data engineering team and the SRE community through performance enhancements, optimising the system and providing guidance. You will be responsible for coming up with solutions and recommending improvements to their processes.
What you offer:
- Experience leading significant data engineering projects.
- Has the ability to lead and guide a team with a focus on data engineering best practices and site reliability outlook.
- Big Data experience with a focus on Spark, Hive, Presto, big data storage formats, Bamboo/Ansible or CICD experience.
- Experience working in an AWS cloud environment.
- Excellent Python, SQL and shell scripting skills.
- Experience working on ETL tools like Talend/Informatica with an understanding in Scala.
- Experience in performance enhancements and system optimisation.
