Office-based with site visits | $150,000–$170,000 inclusive package (negotiable for the right experience)
- Be the trusted point of contact for safety advice across the business.
- Work closely with project teams, supporting practical safety outcomes.
- Senior HSEQ Advisor title available for the right experience and knowledge.
The opportunity
We are recruiting an HSEQ Advisor for a construction business with established, ISO-accredited systems and a collaborative approach to safety.
Reporting to the Head of Construction, you will work alongside delivery teams to provide clear advice, maintain compliance and help projects manage risk. This is an office-based position with regular site visits, including support for high-risk activities on major projects as required.
The role suits an experienced, mid-level advisor who enjoys building relationships and being someone project teams can turn to for answers.
Your role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting monthly site inspections and audits, following through on corrective actions and non-conformances.
- Preparing weekly project statistics and monthly HSEQ reports.
- Providing practical advice on WHS legislation, construction safety and compliance requirements.
- Supporting project teams with planning and managing high-risk activities.
- Investigating incidents, identifying contributing factors and sharing lessons learned.
- Delivering inductions, safety training and guidance for project teams.
- Supporting the maintenance of the Integrated Management System and participating in annual ISO audits.
- Assisting with project setup and the use of Procore, HammerTech and SharePoint.
About you
You will bring relevant Safety/HSEQ qualifications and experience in construction, ideally within a similar advisory position.
You understand construction risks and relevant legislation, and you know how to research and resolve unfamiliar issues. Just as importantly, you can translate that knowledge into clear, workable advice.
We are looking for someone who:
- Builds trust with site teams and becomes an extended part of the delivery team.
- Takes a collaborative, solutions-focused approach while remaining confident addressing safety concerns.
- Has strong reporting, investigation and organisational skills.
- Has experience working with ISO-accredited systems, ideally ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
- Is comfortable using construction safety and project management platforms, with Procore and HammerTech experience highly regarded.
What’s on offer
An anticipated $150,000–$170,000 total remuneration package, inclusive of superannuation, with a Senior HSEQ Advisor title and package considered where experience and technical knowledge warrant it.
You will join a business whose systems are appropriate for its scale. The focus is on applying them consistently, supporting delivery teams and making considered improvements where they add value.
