- Rate: $58.86-$69.52 per hour + super
- High-Impact Bio-security Program: Apply your spatial skills to drive spatial analytics and decision-support tools for a critical Bird Flu Response.
Core Responsibilities:
- Data & Workflow Automation: Build, maintain, and optimise automated geospatial data pipelines using Python and Esri ModelBuilder to support rapid response workflows.
- Spatial Analytics & Disease Modelling: Apply spatial analysis, spatiotemporal methods, and predictive modelling on complex, high-volume datasets to directly inform the Bird Flu response program.
- Enterprise GIS & Services Management: Design, configure, test, and maintain Web Map Services (WMS) and Web Feature Services (WFS) for business applications within an enterprise data warehouse ecosystem.
- Data Visualisation & Cartography: Produce high-standard digital maps, dashboards, and visual decision-support tools that translate complex geospatial insights for non-technical clients and executive stakeholders.
- Client Engagement & Stakeholder Support: Work directly with internal clients to capture requirements, deliver custom geospatial tools, and provide technical guidance and training on analytical outputs.
To be Successful in this position:
- Python & ModelBuilder: Sound, hands-on experience in workflow and data automation using Python (arcpy, spatial scripts) and Esri ModelBuilder.
- Enterprise Spatial Data Architecture: Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise data warehouse design, spatial database management, and data manipulation.
- Web Services Administration: Proven capability to build, deploy, secure, monitor, and maintain WMS and WFS capabilities.
- Esri ArcGIS Platform Expertise: In-depth technical proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, modern desktop GIS, geodesy, coordinate systems, and mobile GIS tools.
- Tertiary Qualification: Degree in Spatial Information Systems, Spatial Science, Surveying, Earth/Environmental Science, or equivalent extensive industry experience.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Emergency / Bio-security Response Experience: Ability to deliver high-priority spatial analytics
- Earth Observation Data: Background in image-based processing, remote sensing, and Earth Observation data analytics (Desirable).
- Professional Certification: GISP-AP (GIS Professional Asia Pacific) certification is highly regarded.
- Communication Skills: Demonstrated capability to translate complex spatiotemporal concepts into clear reports, visuals, and stakeholder
presentations.
