Role Description
Reporting directly to the General Manager, this is the lead finance seat for the business. You will hold full ownership of the financial, accounting, and operational governance functions. Leading an established team of four direct reports, you will provide clear direction and day to day management while ensuring total integrity of all financial records and compliance standards.
The role centers heavily on hands on financial management, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and senior stakeholder engagement. A core requirement is the ability to translate complex financial data into clear commentary and confidently present these insights directly to the General Manager and the Board of Directors.
This is a permanent, full time position requiring five days on site on the Northern Beaches, with flexibility required to attend periodic evening Board or Committee meetings. The role offers a competitive salary package of $130,000 to $145,000 + Super, plus an annual performance bonus scheme and standard leave entitlements.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management and Reporting: Manage complete day to day financial operations. Prepare accurate monthly management accounts including P&L statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow statements, and key financial performance indicators.
Board and Stakeholder Communication: Prepare, present, and communicate comprehensive financial reports, scenario modelling, and commentary directly to Management and the Board of Directors.
Team Leadership: Provide day to day management, direction, and support to an experienced team of four covering Accounts Payable, Payroll, Membership, and Reception.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Coordinate the annual budgeting process across all operational departments, monitor performance against budget, and deliver accurate cash flow projections.
Statutory Compliance and Audit: Oversee end to end accounting operations, coordinate annual financial statement preparation in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards, and act as the primary liaison for external auditors.
Commercial Asset Oversight: Maintain oversight of treasury, fixed asset registers, capital expenditure, purchasing frameworks, and inventory stocktakes.
Systems and IT Oversight: Act as the primary liaison for external IT providers and support a software migration project on the horizon over the next 12 months.
Qualifications and Skills
A Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, or working towards) is preferred.
5 plus years of experience in a senior financial management or hands on accounting role.
Proven people management skills with the confidence to lead a strong, long tenured, and established team.
Exceptional communication skills, with demonstrated experience presenting complex financial data clearly to non-financial managers and Board members.
Background in hospitality is highly desirable.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, point of sale (POS), and database reporting.
