About the Role

We are seeking an experienced EL1 Specialist Advisor to lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of a contemporary employee suitability and workforce integrity framework across the employment lifecycle.

In this strategic yet hands-on role, you will apply vetting and suitability assessment principles to complex workforce cases, deliver risk-informed advice and strengthen pre-employment screening and ongoing monitoring settings. You will partner closely with key operational and corporate teams including Cyber, Legal, Fraud, Risk and Audit to maintain high standards of personnel security, workplace integrity and governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Framework Development & Governance: Lead the design, consultation and implementation of a contemporary employee suitability framework aligned with protective security, personnel security and integrity policies.
• Suitability Assessment & Advisory: Apply vetting principles to complex workforce cases, provide authoritative advice on risks and mitigations and support defensible decision-making.
• Pre-Employment Screening: Strengthen proportional screening settings, integrate requirements into recruitment workflows and evaluate suitability indicators.
• Ongoing Workforce Monitoring: Establish clear triggers, structured assessment methods and practical approaches for ongoing suitability and integrity risk management.
• Role Risk Identification: Identify high-integrity positions, manage worker screening check processes and maintain registers linking roles to suitability expectations.
• Policy & Continuous Improvement: Refresh and maintain accessible policies across the employment lifecycle while strengthening linkages across security, fraud, audit and governance functions.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership: Build collaborative partnerships across internal teams, brief executives and mentor staff to drive an uplift in integrity awareness and ethical behaviour.

Key Skills & Experience Required

• Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF): Proven experience applying PSPF requirements to workforce lifecycle processes (recruitment, onboarding, monitoring and cessation).
• Vetting & Suitability Assessment: Significant background in personnel security, vetting, or integrity-based assessment roles.
• Complex Data Analysis: Demonstrated capability in interpreting complex personal information to make structured, defensible decisions against defined standards.
• Framework & Policy Development: Experience designing, applying, or refreshing structured risk criteria, assessment methodologies and corporate policies.
• Written Communication & Briefing: Strong analytical writing skills with demonstrated experience producing high-quality decision records, executive briefs and assessments.
• Discretion & Integrity: High level of professionalism and discretion when dealing with highly sensitive personnel information.

Eligibility Requirements

• Australian Citizenship is mandatory.
• Candidates must be willing and eligible to undergo relevant national security and suitability checks.
