About the Role
Are you an experienced protective security leader looking for your next challenge?
As our Security Operations Manager, you will head our operational security function and drive compliance against the Commonwealth Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF). Leading a small, dedicated team, you will provide expert risk-based advice and manage complex security operations across a nationwide footprint.
Key Responsibilities
👥 Leadership: Manage a small team, coordinate workflows, and set clear operational priorities.
🛡️ Risk Management: Conduct physical security risk assessments and audits to proactively identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
📊 Assurance & Compliance: Oversee our national security program, deliver staff awareness training, and ensure strict alignment with whole-of-government security policies.
What We Are Looking For
PSPF Expertise: Demonstrated experience delivering protective security functions in line with the PSPF.
Risk Management: Proven track record in assessing and mitigating physical, personnel, and information security risks.
Strategic Communication: Strong interpersonal and writing skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and author high-level briefs.
Autonomy & Drive: Ability to interpret complex policies and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Eligibility Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:
Citizenship: Must be an Australian Citizen.
Security Clearance: Hold, or have the ability to obtain, a Negative Vetting Level 2 (NV2) clearance.
Background Check: Ability to successfully pass an Australian Federal Police (AFP) Check.
Flexibility: Willingness for occasional out-of-hours contact to manage urgent alarm or operational security issues.
