Important Information & Roster
- Location: Windsor, Melbourne (Close to public transport).
- Shifts: All shifts available. Operations run 24/7, requiring flexibility across Day, Afternoon, and Night shifts (minimum 3 x 7-hour shifts per week).
- CRITICAL REQUIREMENT: Candidates must have full, uninterrupted availability over the peak December/January period (including public holidays).
About The Role
Operating in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with precision and empathy, your primary focus is to triage inbound emergency calls and connect callers to Emergency Service Organisations (ESOs), including Police, Fire, and Ambulance.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Answering high-volume inbound emergency calls from across Australia and connecting callers quickly and accurately to the required service.
- Ensuring 100% quality and data precision on every connection to maintain critical safety standards.
- Strictly adhering to operational procedures and structured response systems.
- Treating every caller with a calm, empathetic, and professional approach.
- Participating actively in ongoing coaching, quality assurance, and skill development sessions.
About You
- Previous experience in Customer Service, Call Centre, Retail, or Hospitality environments.
- Proven ability to remain calm, focused, and methodical under high-pressure conditions.
- Solid computer skills - ability to active listen, type accurate notes, and cross-reference information simultaneously.
- Strong spelling and a solid knowledge of Australian states, territories, and cities.
- Ability to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week across a 24/7 roster, with mandatory availability during December and January.
Mandatory Compliance Requirements
Due to the critical national infrastructure nature of this role, all successful candidates must:
- Hold Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or a valid visa with working rights.
- Successfully pass a National Criminal History Check.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment hearing test.
