About the Role This is not your standard customer service position. We are looking for a proactive thinker who can step outside the box to deliver exceptional service. As a Customer Support Officer, you will be the face and voice of our organisation, helping community members navigate services and finding solutions to their enquiries.
This fast-paced role requires excellent multitasking skills as you manage customer interactions across multiple channels, including phone, email, online platforms, and face-to-face service counters.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Excellence: Deliver friendly, accurate, and positive customer experiences across all communication channels, resolving enquiries in line with our service standards.
Administration & Finance: Process financial transactions (including cash handling and daily reconciliations up to $500), manage information flow across computer systems, and prepare routine correspondence.
Community Advocacy: Educate residents on available services, gather community feedback to help improve our processes, and assist with local civic events and promotional activities.
Team Collaboration: Participate in rosters, attend team meetings, and work closely with other departments to support continuous service improvement.
What You Bring to the Team
Service Excellence: Proven experience delivering high-quality customer service to a diverse community, with the ability to handle challenging interactions calmly and respectfully.
Tech & Numbers Savvy: Strong digital literacy with the ability to learn complex databases, records systems, and payment platforms, alongside experience with cash and EFT reconciliation.
Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain policies and processes in plain, clear English.
Time Management: The organizational skills to prioritize your own workload, multitask, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Qualifications: A relevant Certificate III or IV is desirable, but equivalent practical experience is highly valued.
