As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Customer Service & Internal Sales Manager to lead our high-performing internal team based in Hindmarsh.

The Role

In this pivotal leadership position, you will head a dedicated team of 3 to 4 Customer Support and Internal Sales specialists. Your primary focus will be managing the day-to-day workflow of incoming customer enquiries, driving the quotation process, and ensuring your team successfully closes transaction opportunities.

Reporting directly to the CEO and managing director, you will bridge the gap between customer service excellence and sales performance, ensuring the team hits their monthly/annual sales targets while maintaining target gross profit margins.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a close-knit team of 3 to 4 internal support staff to ensure rapid, high-quality responses to all customer enquiries.
  • Pipeline & Quote Management: Oversee the efficient production and follow-up of customer quotes to maximize sales conversion ratios.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Coordinate with Account Managers to assist with complex quotes, and ensure seamless order handovers to the Operations team for accurate fulfilment.
  • Performance Monitoring: Drive team accountability around key KPIs, including Net Promoter Score (NPS), quote turnaround times, and sales volume targets.
  • CRM Data Integrity: Ensure the CRM system is meticulously maintained with up-to-date customer and sales data to maintain market relevancy.
  • Product Knowledge Mastery: Foster continuous learning within the team regarding our technical product offerings and solutions.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring a balanced blend of operational leadership and internal sales acumen. You should have:

  • Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience managing or supervising a small team within a customer service, internal sales, or industrial/trade distribution environment.
  • Sales Drive: A strong understanding of sales conversion, quotation pipelines, and managing gross profit (GP) margins.
  • Excellent Communication: High-level interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate effectively with internal account managers and operations teams.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficient experience working with CRM systems and modern sales ordering platforms.
  • Leadership Style: A hands-on leader who leads by example, champions company values, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
