The Opportunity Are you a driven Civil Engineer looking to specialise in traffic and road safety?
We are partnering with a major government department to find a talented Civil / Traffic Engineer to join their dedicated Traffic Engineering Practice team in Nerang. In this highly impactful contract role, you will work under the guidance of senior engineering staff to improve road network capacity, reduce congestion, and keep the community safe.

What your typical day will look like: Reporting directly to the Principal Engineer (Traffic), you will provide critical technical expertise to specific sites across the region. Your key accountabilities will include:
Safety Investigations: Investigating, analysing, and reviewing traffic and road safety issues, and developing effective solutions for the state-controlled network.
Project Development: Contributing to high-profile initiatives including the Road Safety Minor Works program (ensuring best value for money), Road Safety Mass Actions Plans, Safer Roads Sooner, and the Black Spot Program.
Technical Advice: Providing specialist assistance to other officers regarding traffic investigations, static traffic control signage, and line marking.
Stakeholder Engagement: Preparing technical reports, responding to public and Ministerial correspondence, and effectively communicating traffic operations advice.
Compliance: Maintaining and applying all relevant standards, policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements for road infrastructure design and construction.
What you will need to succeed:
A four-year, Washington Accord accredited Bachelor of Engineering (or Engineers Australia equivalent).
A current Class C driver's licence and Construction White Card.
A strong interest or background in traffic engineering and road safety programs.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
