Your New Position:
As the Category Manager - Pharmacy, reporting to a Senior Merchandise Manager, you will drive sales growth and profit improvement for a portfolio of scheduled and medicinal categories. This role requires a blend of meticulous attention to detail, commercial acumen, and strategic planning to optimise product offerings and enhance customer satisfaction.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Drive targets for sales, profit, GP, and price positioning while translating customer insights and data into actionable commercial strategies.
- Own the long-term strategic direction for the department while executing short-term operational goals across the portfolio to maximise market share.
- Develop and implement comprehensive commercial plans (including COGS, shrink, pricing, and promotional frameworks) and manage the department P&L to deliver sustainable growth.
- Cultivate market-leading partnerships with wholesale and pharmaceutical suppliers, collaborate with BDMs to achieve account sales targets, and conduct regular business reviews.
- Ensure strict adherence to all pharmaceutical and healthcare regulations in coordination with the regulatory affairs team and mitigate risks in evolving landscapes.
- Optimise supply chain operations, collaborate with planning teams to maintain stock availability, and leverage analytics to improve inventory decision-making.
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Pharmacy, or a related field.
- Deep understanding of pharmaceutical and healthcare regulations (Essential)
- Experience within the Australian Pharmaceutical market is (Essential)
- Proven track record in wholesale, B2B, or pharmacy sales and account management, preferably within healthcare or pharma.
- Strong negotiation, sales, analytical, and problem-solving skills with experience in P&L management, data analysis, and reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and a valid driver's license.
