I am currently partnering with one of Australia’s premier youth fashion and streetwear destinations. From strong suburban roots, this iconic retail group has expanded to over 100 stores nationwide alongside a rapidly growing global e-commerce presence.

Known for curated high-energy assortments, they house a mix of leading international labels, local cult favourites, and thriving in-house brands.

On their behalf, I am searching for a commercially minded, trend-obsessed Fashion Buyer to join their dynamic team based at their Support Office in Brisbane’s Eagle Farm area.

Reporting into the Senior Buyer, you will take ownership of your category—blending trend forecasting with data-led trading strategy to curate ranges that define Australian youth fashion.

Key Responsibilities

• Category Ownership: Drive the end-to-end buying strategy, seasonal planning, and assortment building for your designated apparel category.

• Trend Forecasting: Identify emerging global trends, youth culture movements, and micro-influences, translating them into high-performing commercial ranges.

• Brand & Supplier Management: Maintain and nurture relationships with local and international supplier partners while continuously sourcing fresh, emerging brands.

• Commercial Performance: Manage OTB (Open-to-Buy) budgets, monitor inventory flow, and analyze sales performance data to maximize gross margin and sell-through.

• In-Season Trading: Act with agility on trading results—identifying repeat order opportunities, managing markdowns, and pivoting strategy based on customer demand.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Merchandising/Planning, Marketing, Digital, and Retail operations teams to ensure seasonal stories and launches land with maximum impact.

About You

• Experience: Proven track record as a Buyer, Junior Buyer, or Category Buyer within youth fashion, streetwear, apparel, or high-volume fashion retail.

• Trend Acumen: A deep, genuine passion for youth culture, streetwear, global fashion movements, and customer buying behaviour.

• Commercial Sharpness: Strong numerical skills and experience managing OTB, gross margins, intake margin targets, and inventory levels.

• Analytical Tools: High proficiency in Excel alongside fashion reporting, forecasting, and inventory tools.

• Relationship Management: Skilled negotiator with a collaborative approach to managing brand partners and external suppliers.

• Agility: A proactive mindset thrives in a fast-paced retail environment where speed to market makes all the difference.
