Business Analyst - Process Improvement Initiative | Contract | Hybrid - Melbourne
A well established organisation is looking for a Business Analyst to lead a dedicated initiative focused on reducing lost transactions within a customer facing process. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role, from digging into the data to shipping the fixes that actually move the needle. You'll work closely with product, engineering and operations stakeholders to turn a messy problem into a clear, prioritised action plan.
What you'll be doing
- Investigating the root causes behind a recurring drop-off point in a core customer facing system
- Partnering with engineering to improve data capture and tracking where visibility gaps exist
- Analysing trends and quantifying the business impact of each cause
- Building a prioritised business case ranking issues by value and effort
- Writing clear functional requirements and scoping system or workflow changes to intercept the issue before it occurs
- Working closely with engineering and technical teams to help build, test and roll out these changes
- Handing over documentation and insights to the ongoing process owner at the end of the engagement
What we're looking for
- Strong experience as a Business Analyst who has worked on technology or systems focused projects
- Comfortable moving from data investigation through to writing detailed requirements and collaborating with engineering on technical solutions
- Confident building business cases and prioritisation frameworks based on data and cost impact
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, able to work across product, engineering and operations
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work autonomously in an ambiguous, evolving environment
