bookkeeper / team lead

The Role You will balance client-facing bookkeeping with overseeing daily workflow, ensuring high standards across our client accounts, and supporting a small, dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Bookkeeping: End-to-end processing, payroll, superannuation, BAS/IAS preparation, bank reconciliations, and month-end reporting for multiple small business clients.

• Team Leadership: Allocating daily tasks, reviewing work quality, providing guidance to junior staff, and helping the team hit deadlines.

• Client & Software Support: Onboarding new clients, managing queries, and optimizing workflows across cloud accounting platforms (Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks).

• Process Improvement: Spotting bottlenecks and keeping practice workflows smooth and efficient.

What We Are Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in a multi-client bookkeeping or accounting practice environment.

• Registered BAS Agent qualification (or working towards it) is highly regarded.

• Expert knowledge of Xero, MYOB, and receipt management tools (Hubdoc, Dext, etc.).

• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience.

• Strong communication skills and a friendly, confident client manner.

• High attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a busy environment.
