Welder / Boilermaker | Rolling stock & Heavy Fabrication
Are you an experienced Welder or Boilermaker looking for a stable, high-paying workshop role? We are currently seeking a skilled trade professional for a dedicated position in Chipping Norton, focusing on the structural repair, modification, and overhaul of railway rolling stock, wagon bogies, and heavy steel structures.
Key Role Details
Location: Chipping Norton — easily accessible with ample on-site parking and public transport options nearby.
Hourly Rate: $52 – $55/hr + super (dependent on experience).
Shifts Available: Monday to Friday day shifts.

Key Responsibilities
Perform structural welding, modifications, and repairs to railway rolling stock, wagon bogies, and heavy frames.
Execute high-quality welds using MIG/FCAW and MMAW (Stick) to standard specifications.
Complete component preparation, cutting, gouging, and grinding to exacting tolerances.
Read and interpret fabrication blueprints, technical drawings, and weld symbols.
Carry out visual inspections of completed welds to ensure compliance with quality control standards.
Follow SWMS and site safety protocols to maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace.
What We Are Looking For
Trade Qualification: Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication / Boilermaking / Heavy Welding) or recognized equivalent.
Welding Competency: Proven experience with heavy structural fabrication, ideally on rolling stock, transport equipment, earthmoving machinery, or heavy structural steel.
Technical Literacy: Confident reading and working from fabrication drawings and technical schematics.
