Key Responsibilities (Confidential Scope)
Due to the high-security nature of these naval assets, specific project specifications remain strictly confidential until onboarding.
Snippet of Role Scope:
- Heavy Marine Fabrication: Perform structural fabrication, fitting, and high-integrity welding on major defence assets.
- Advanced Welding: Execute precise MIG and Flux-Core (FCAW) welding in high-consequence environments.
- Blueprint Execution: Read and work directly from complex structural engineering drawings and specifications.
- Safety & Quality: Strictly adhere to naval quality protocols, ITAR compliance, and workplace safety standards.
Skills & Experience Required
- Trade Qualified: Australian-recognised Heavy Fabrication / Boilermaking Trade Certificate.
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrated heavy fabrication experience specialising in MIG and Flux Core (FCAW) welding.
- Drawing Interpretation: Proven ability to read and work from detailed structural engineering schematics.
- Clearances & Work Rights:
- Australian Work Rights (Permanent Resident or Australian Citizenship).
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Identity Card (NSSIC) and ITAR clearance.
- Current National Police Clearance (issued within 3 months) or willingness to obtain one immediately.
