Randstad is seeking a skilled and experienced Boilermaker / Welder to join our engineering workshop team. This is a dedicated workshop-based position focused on the fabrication and welding of mild steel components and structural elements. The daily workload primarily involves MIG welding and structural/component fabrication from engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities
Fabricate, assemble, and weld mild steel components, frames, and structures to specification.
Perform high-quality MIG welding on a variety of material thicknesses.
Read and accurately interpret technical engineering drawings and blueprints.
Cut, grind, mark out, and prepare materials prior to assembly.
Operate standard workshop machinery safely (e.g.Angle grinders, drills, Sanders and overhead cranes).
Maintain high quality control standards and ensure all work passes visual inspections.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workplace environment.
Key Requirements
Trade Qualification in Boilermaking, Metal Fabrication, or relevant discipline.
Proven experience in mild steel fabrication and MIG welding.
High proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Strong attention to detail and standard of workmanship.
Commitment to safe work practices and workshop protocols.
