Plant Operator – Asphalt Paving

Are you an experienced asphalt worker who knows their way around paving machinery?

We’re looking for a skilled Plant Operator to join a hard-working, busy asphalt crew. If you enjoy a mix of operating heavy machinery and getting hands-on with the team, this is the role for you.

What you’ll be doing:

• Operating machinery: Driving pavers, steel/multi-rollers, and skid steers (bobcats).

• Hands-on teamwork: Pitching in with manual labour like raking, shovelling, sweeping, and spotting trucks.

• Quality control: Monitoring asphalt spread rates, depth, and surface texture.

• Daily maintenance: Handling pre-starts, clean-downs, and site housekeeping.

What you need (Experience & Tickets):

• Current Driver’s Licence (Mandatory).

• Industry Experience: Proven background in asphalt paving operations.

• Plant Tickets/VOCs: Competency to safely operate paving equipment. Existing tickets for a Front-End Loader, Forklift, Bobcat (Skid Steer), or an Asphalt Paver (specifically the unit RIICBS305E - Conduct Asphalt Paver Operation) are strongly preferred

• Physical Fitness: Happy to jump out of the cab for manual labour, lift up to 25kg, and work in hot, outdoor environments.

• Team Player: A strong communicator with a safety-first mindset.
