About the Role
Our client is a well known federal government organisation based in Richmond VIC and Surry Hills NSW. They are currently seeking a Finance Officer to come in and join them on a temp contract opportunity until 31st December 2026.

- Australian Citizenship (Federal Government requirement)
- Experience in SAP REFX leasing module will be advantageous
- Experience preparing lease-related journal entries, rent allocations, interest/liability working papers, and supporting financial statement audit processes.
- Solid background reviewing lease contracts, executing modifications and terminations, performing checklist evaluations, and completing vendor reconciliations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lease Contract & Portfolio Administration: Review, calculate, and process new, modified, and terminated fleet and property lease contracts in SAP REFX, completing assessment workbooks in compliance with AASB 16 Leases standards.
- Lease Accounting & Financial Reconciliation: Prepare monthly journal entries, rent allocations, fleet interest/liability working papers, and reconcile fleet contract statements with vendor records.
- Asset Register & Systems Management: Maintain accurate asset, fleet, and building lease data within SAP REFX and support month-end, year-end, and audit reporting requirements.
- Variance Investigation & Stakeholder Liaison: Investigate and resolve leasing and asset variances in direct liaison with Property teams, Fleet managers, and Services Australia.
- Financial Advisory & Governance: Provide expert financial asset management advice, technical guidance, and operational support to internal and external agency stakeholders.
- Reporting & Executive Documentation: Produce monthly SAP REFX lease reports for Corporate Services and draft business cases, executive briefs, and strategic documentation.
- Leadership & Operational Support: Deliver ad-hoc support to the Assistant Director Assets and assist in driving agency-wide financial management workflows.
