Located in at 1 William Street, Brisbane, this full-time opportunity offers a 12-month initial contract (September 2026 to August 2027) with the strong possibility of a further 12-month extension. Working within a supportive, four-person team in the Office of the Executive Director, you will provide critical support on high-priority business unit operations, manage corporate documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across a dynamic portfolio.
Your new roleYour duties will be tasks including but not limited to…
Coordinate high-level corporate documents and key processes, including Parliamentary, Estimates, and conflict of interest documentation.
Liaise with departmental officers and senior government leaders to ensure smooth office operations and facilitate quality outcomes.
Research and draft correspondence, briefs, and official reports required by the Executive Director.
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of departmental activities and protocols to advise leadership on emerging issues.
Support the Principal Project Officer with Business Unit reporting and high-priority emergent projects.
Generate reports, analyse data, and track projects using systems such as Aurion, SAP, and PowerBI.
Undertake procurement activities and perform administrative tasks to assist day-to-day executive operations.
Previous experience supporting a public sector Senior Executive or Senior Officer level environment is highly desirable.
Proficiency or quick learning capability in reporting tools and corporate systems, specifically SAP, PowerBI, and Aurion.
Proven analytical skills and strong problem-solving capabilities under tight deadlines.
High-level communication skills and the ability to build collaborative, enduring relationships.
Flexibility and strong self-management skills to deliver outcomes with minimal supervision.
Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or valid working rights in Australia.
Competitive hourly rate of $69.21 per hour + superannuation.
