- Paying between $69.21-$75.09 + super

About the Role
Our client is a QLD government organisation based in the Brisbane CBD. They are currently seeking an AO5 Finance Officer to come in and join their team on a temp contract opportunity until 18th December 2026.
Requirements for this role include:
- A qualification in Finance, Accounting or Business would be highly regarded.
- Knowledge and understanding of financial management practices and processes across accounts payable, accounts receivable etc
- Experience with Financial systems for customer and vendor payment management and reporting (SAP is preferred but open to other similar systems experience)
Key responsibilities include:
- Financial Operations & Transaction Management: Coordinate day-to-day financial operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), purchase requisitions, corporate card administration, petty cash, and cost center management.
- Reporting & Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Prepare monthly expenditure, revenue, and trial balance reports, conduct transaction audit sampling, and manage monthly balance sheet reconciliations within the team.
- Electoral & Special Financial Processes: Manage the financial processes associated with the Non-Voter post-election procedures and actively support all financial facets during major electoral events.
- Stakeholder Liaison & Query Resolution: Serve as the primary liaison between Queensland Shared Services (QSS) and ECQ, handling general finance inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Financial Governance & Audit Compliance: Ensure full compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, while assisting the Principal Finance Officer through the annual end-of-financial-year audit process.
- Procurement Support: Provide operational assistance to the Procurement and Contracts Manager for low-value and low-risk procurement activities.
- Team Supervision & Values Leadership: Supervise and train casual and temporary staff during major electoral events while consistently upholding values.
