As a Legal Support Officer / Paralegal Support Officer, you will:
...- Assist the Legal and Counsel Assisting teams with legal research, analysis, and document review. Prepare briefs, manage hearing logistics, liaise with witnesses and legal professionals, and fulfill Associate duties during public proceedings.
- Deliver high-level administrative support to legal leadership, including complex diary coordination, travel arrangements, meeting logistics (agendas and minute-taking), and incoming/outgoing correspondence.
- Execute expert document formatting, word processing, dictation typing, and report preparation. Maintain core databases, case management systems, Excel spreadsheets, and physical/digital filing structures.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders across phone, email, and formal correspondence, handling sensitive and confidential matters with high integrity.
- Support financial operations including legal billing, time recording, and tracking counsel fees. Proactively identify operational bottlenecks, adapt to shifting deadlines, and escalate key risks to the Director or Principal Legal Officer.
- Model high standards of legal practice, foster inclusive cross-team relationships, support service improvement initiatives, and champion organizational values.
Additionally, this role may involve paralegal-specific tasks, such as:
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates excellent organisational skills, time management skills, attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrates an understanding of legal procedures, Court processes and documents and terminology.
- Demonstrates the ability to foster collaborative and productive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and identities.
