Are you looking for a position in finance AND Government? This could be for you!
We are seeking a skilled Senior Finance Officer to join our clients Finance Team on a temporary basis. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and community-focused organisation.
35 hours per week, with an hourly rate that is negotiable for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service through various channels, including telephone, counter inquiries, and correspondence handling.
- Manage reconciliation and processing of payments from collections agencies, Bpay, Direct Debits, and bank reconciliations.
- Maintain and update creditors and debtors master files, and perform month-end tasks.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and uphold the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of efficient finance processes and procedures.
- Provide operational support in relation to accounts payable and accounts receivable to all stakeholders.
- Maintain, reconcile and reimburse the petty cash float, corporate credit cards and fuel cards.

preparation of correspondence, electronic filing and preparation of finance working papers.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- Certificate IV in accounting, financial management, business management, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in an accounting environment, particularly in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable (minimum 5 years ideally).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to review and validate own work.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communication wtih a range of stakeholders.
- Computer skills, experience across MS Office, computerised accounting systems, electronic document systems.
- Experience using Civica Authority would be beneficial.
