Our client, a well established international wholesale bank is looking for hands-on risk leaders as their next Chief Risk Officer (CRO) / Head of Risk for their branch operations in Australia. You will play an instrumental role for setting the tone for overall risk management for the bank.

Ideally you are (or have been) the CRO / Head-of for another foreign ADI looking for your next challenge. We're also interested in talking to experienced supervisors from regulatory bodies who are keen to work for a bank offering their expertise.
Role Overview:
Leading a team of 8-10 risk professionals specialising in different risk categories, hold ultimate accountabilities of the following -
- Chief liaison point for APRA.
- Comprehensive management of the Branch’s risk management framework and procedures, including any policy development and implementation.
- Drafting and update of annual risk appetite statement and management plan.
- Oversee risk identification, measurement, and controls assurance in compliance with Head Office policies and Australian regulations.
- Manage, coach and develop the team. Participate in recruitment and selection activities.
- APRA responsible personnel and key contributor on various committee (Credit Approval, Risk Management, Compliance etc.).
- Ad hoc project and managerial tasks as directed.
Requirements:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in the banking industry, with a tenure in management / executive level positions managing teams.
- Previous experience working for a foreign ADI (wholesale / corporate / institutional) highly regarded.
- Resourceful and knowledgeable in the risk & compliance management principles and regulatory requirements (APRA, ASIC & AUSTRAC).
- Proven track record of regulatory relationship management.
- Culturally adaptive leader, with a true passion for team bonding and development.
- Tertiary qualified.
