Seeking a dynamic and experienced Tax Specialist to join our team in Perth on an initial 3 month contract. This is one of the largest mining companies globally and as such there is plenty of opportunity for growth and advancement.
In your role as a Tax Specialist you will support the preparation of tax advice and ensure the delivery of all internal and external filing and reporting obligations, underpinned by strong internal controls and efficiency across all end to end tax processes.
Duties will include:
- Working closely with the Tax Manager and other Tax team members
- Review and deliver all local tax reporting and compliance obligations for direct and indirect taxes relating
- Support the Tax Manager with the management of relationships with Regional Tax Authorities
- Support the preparation of advice on the tax outcomes for material projects
- Review and analyse legal terms/clauses of proposed commercial or other contracts with external parties .
- Support the execution of relevant strategies, plans, budgets, and performance
- Assist with the management of external auditors, advisors and other outsource service providers.
- Assist to maintain a robust governance and control environment.
Skills and Experience
- Support the culture of continual learning and development
- CA/CPA or equivalent qualified required
- 5+ years’ post qualification practical experience
- Specialist knowledge of income tax, fringe benefits tax, goods and services tax and WA royalties
- Sound knowledge of IFRS and financial accounting
- MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and SAP platform experience (desirable)
You will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi award winning office tower - 'City Square'.
