This role will be offered as a permanent basis, on a 7/7 FIFO roster, flying out of Adelaide airport to our clients mine site. About the role:
The radiation officer will be responsible for investigating any defects or malfunctions discovered in our clients plant, equipment or procedure which cause exposure to radiation in excess of dose constraints or limits.
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Using radiation monitoring equipment
- Activity and personal monitoring of activities around the mine site
- Disposal of radioactive material in a safe manner
- Decontamination of radioactive equipment
- Record and monitor data relating to radiation.
- Reporting data to regulators
- Training staff members on radiation awareness
Experience required for this role:
- Previous experience as a radiation officer or similar role is required
- Radiation training is highly desirable
- Great communication skills
- Ability to work within a team
