Our client is a leading mid tier professional services firm, located in the heart of the Brisbane CBD. Reporting to the Audit Partners, the chosen candidate will be tasked with managing audit engagements, overseeing audit staff, and ensuring meticulous documentation aligning with internal quality standards and Australian Audit Standards. The role offers exposure to a diverse client base, including listed companies across various sectors such as Mining, Technology, Financial Services, Property, Education, Health, and Not for Profit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads, develops, and mentors staff
- Manages a portfolio of audit clients, ensuring consistent delivery of quality work within regulatory requirements and time-lines
- Oversees day-to-day team management, scheduling, and audit file preparation and reviews
- Cultivates strong client relationships, effectively communicating audit findings
- Pursues business development opportunities with existing and potential clients
- Serves as a representative of the Assurance Division within the firm and the marketplace
- Undertakes other assurance engagements as they arise
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum 5 years experience in a professional external audit environment
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants or equivalent
- Proficiency in assurance/audit techniques and methods
- Familiarity with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), Australian Auditing Standards (ASA), and relevant legislation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional client management abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
