Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Reconcile accounts and ensure accuracy in financial records.
- Assist with maintenance of Council’s managed investment portfolio.
- Collaborate with internal departments to provide financial support and analysis.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience in accounting or financial management.
- Strong proficiency with Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Previous experience within local government.
