The focus of the role is to provide high quality advice, information and representation in criminal matters in northern Tasmania. The role also involves providing community legal education.
About You:
- Experience working as an advocate in the Magistrates Court would be preferred but is not essential and have undertaken work in the Supreme Court.
- An understanding of the social issues faced by members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A team player, working positively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
- High level of personal initiative, resourcefulness and diligence.
- Basic competency in the use of MS Office and the capacity to quickly acquire competency in the use of client databases.

Requirements:
- Admission or eligibility for admission as a Legal Practitioner in Tasmania.
- The selected candidate will undergo a National Police Check and must apply for a Working with Vulnerable Persons registration.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license is essential, as the role entails travel throughout Tasmania.
