Key Responsibilities:
- To support your Design Manager with the design delivery process, facilitating the integration and coordination of design activities from conception through completion, ensuring compliance with project objectives and design standards.
- Oversee document control and management, ensuring all design documents are accurate and accessible.
- Provide guidance and advice on buildability and design issues, proactively addressing potential challenges in project execution
- Act as an interface between external design stakeholders and internal project teams, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration.
- Management of design change register to capture the changes in each iteration of the design.
- Review drawings to identify design risks and manage the design approval process.
- Oversee permitting processes and track the progress of permits to ensure timely approvals.
- Manage design works by liaising with architects, planners, and consultancies, ensuring that design deliverables are met according to project timelines.
- Assist the design manager in coordinating various disciplines and coordination between external consultants and the internal engineering team.
- Maintain a proactive approach in identifying improvements in design processes to enhance project outcomes.
- Coordinate data collation and engage with stakeholders to prepare comprehensive tender submissions for future projects.
What you'll need:
- Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Design, or Construction Management
- At least three years of experience in architectural or construction related design roles, specifically within the new build commercial building sector (not just residential).
- Ability to manage design and assist with contract administration for complex projects - the project itself is mixture of D&C commercial and modular new build.
- Excellent communication skills, adept at engaging with clients, consultants, and on-site teams.
- You must have existing experience working in Australia as you'll need proficient knowledge of Australian Building Standards.
